Keystones
Available in wood in both No.2 (standard) or a No.1 size. As well as the single standard No.2 size in Plastic. Keystones are a very technical piece that form part of the whole conditioning and tapping process. A Keystone is a small round bung in the top of the Cask that has a weakened centre for inserting the tap. This area is partially cut in the Wooden Keystones or has a thin membrane in the Plastic version, ready to be punched through when the Cask is 'Tapped' , traditionally using either a Wooden or Plastic tap. With skill & experience a Cask can be tapped with little or no spillage.
