A Family Run Business now in it's fifth generation. Established in 1897 - the same year as Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. Burton Wood Turnery or 'BWT' remains on of the largest manufacturers & suppliers of cask closures in the UK. 

The business began as Timber Merchants and Saw-millers converting hardwoods for various markets including exports of high quality sawn English Oak to the European furniture markets. 

Our wood turning side of the business was started around 1918 after the Great War, primarily involved in supplying the Traditional Ale Brewers across the UK which remains the core of our activities to this day alongside our specialist and more modern skills of personalised laser engraving & finishing to a range of different products.

We are also members of the British Wood Turners Association.

Our Cask Closures include both Wooden & Plastic Shives, Plastic Evoprene & Wooden Keystones & Plastic & Wooden Hard spiles. Wooden Soft Cane Spiles, Straight & Tapered Clip Corks, Wine Corks & Stoppers. Wooden Cask Taps in a range of sizes and uses including Waterbutt Taps. Wooden Pump Handles and Pump Clips, as well as Whisky Barrel Closures, to name a few.

We keep most items in stock ready for collection or delivery, most items are sent out on a next day delivery service.
